Sasquatches are notoriously cheap, so Weebly is a good pick for frugal folk like me. Weebly's pricing is the best option out there and has various plans depending on your need. If you would like to know how much Weebly will cost you a year, you just simply multiply the monthly rate by 12. Weebly's billing cycle is yearly they just break it into monthly amounts to make the prices look better, for example, the Personal Weebly Plan costs $7 a month, but it's billed annually so the total will be (12*$7)$84

Weebly has one of the best free options out there. Weebly Free gets you 500MB of storage, unlimited bandwidth, basic e-commerce and a solid subdomain, though, like most, the free option includes ads. Weebly Education or Weebly Student as some call it is a very unique initiative that Weebly has created to help schools and students create websites. Simply the simplest said the Sasquatch (say that five times).
Incredibly intuitive, Weebly was created for people who have no knowledge of web building or design. The editor interface, including ecommerce platform, was created with the aim of making it as straightforward and as simple as possible.
While comparable website builders are more customizable, but there is a downside to customizing – there’s the risk that the creator will make poor design or usability choices. By limiting customization, Weebly ensures your website will look neat and clean, even if you’ve got the design skills of a Big Foot.
Do you have to have any technical skills?
No design or web building skills required.
Can you create it make edits from a tablet or phone?
Weebly is ahead of the game on this one – it offers an iPad app that supports touch-friendly, drag-and-drop site building.
How is Weebly’s template and photo selection?
How’s the template selection?
While Weebly templates are very attractive, the number of template options is fairly disappointing. Compared to Wix which has over 500 templates, Weebly only has around 70. Not only that, but theme customization is limited as well. You can change font within the custom template, but not colour. The one plus is that unlike some webbuilders, you can easily change your site’s template without having to rebuild your site.
How’s the stock photo and video selection?
Weebly has an ok selection of photos and video, but not great. Of course, you always have the option of uploading photos and video from stock photography sites, but it’s a minor inconvenience to have to go elsewhere. Image editing is decent (though not comparable to Squarespace or Wix) and you can do all the basic things like cropping, adjusting color and adding text.
Another “miss” and one of the biggest drawbacks of Weebly is that it doesn’t have a photo storage area – every time you want to upload a photo, you need to do so from your desktop rather than the platform.
Is Weebly customizable?
Weebly templates are not very customizable and mobile sites are not adaptable at all. As mentioned earlier, this can be a plus for those with no design skills, but it is a Yeti-sized limitation to anyone who wants to have the flexibility to create something of their own.
Can I insert my own code?
Yup – go for it. Weebly allows you to edit the source HTML / CSS code of a site.
If I were to build the ultimate (half-bear) man cave, it would look a lot like the Weebly platform – all the best gadgets without an exorbitant cost. Weebly’s feature set has anything you would need to build your website – maps, media, sign-up, forums, surveys, newsletters. And if you can’t find what you are looking for, their App Centre has over 300 additional apps.
How is Weebly’s newsletter feature?
Weebly has an integrated newsletter function called Promote which is easy to use and works like a charm. It is particularly tuned into product marketing, suggesting mail blasts when you have a product on sale and offering the ability to create Facebook ads that retarget site visitors or abandoned cart visitors.
If you are currently or planning on using Constant Contact or MailChimp, be aware that Weebly doesn’t not offer or integrate with these services (they’d rather you use their own newsletter function).
How is Weebly’s blog feature?
Like the site builder, Weebly's blogging interface is simple and straightforward, though there are no standard blog templates, so you have to create the template of images and text every time. Other than that, it has all the standard blog features.
Is Weebly SEO (search engine optimization) ready?
Weebly will help you through the step-by-step of SEO with a detailed guide and prompts, but it doesn’t have an automated, take-care-of-everything tool like Wix does. If you want to be indexed by Google, Bing or Yahoo you will need to have a paid plan.
Is Weebly good for business?
What type of business is Weebly best for?
Because of its simplicity and ease of use, Weebly is a great option for people looking to build a simple site quickly. Weebly is also one of the best ecommerce website builders, so definitely an attractive option for businesses.
How is Weebly for e-commerce?
Weebly was purchased by the online payment company Square in 2018, so it is geared to business and has a full suite of e-commerce options. The Store Builders has almost all the e-commerce options you’d look for, including coupons, invoices, marketing tools, inventory tracking, etc., etc. You can import products from Etsy, Shopify, or a CSV file. and allows you to accept payment from PayPal, Square, Stripe, and Authorize.net.
Some of these features require you to have more expensive plans. If you have a less than $25-per-month plan, Weebly charges a 3 percent transaction fee on top of what the payment processor charges.
Does Weebly work on all devices?
Weebly templates (particularly their new ones) look great on mobile phone. All the pros and cons that accompany the website builder (pro: ease of use; con: lack of customization) apply to mobile sites.
How fast will my Weebly site load?
Weebly has the speed factor dialed and load times are generally excellent. Creators are only cautioned to make sure their images and videos aren’t too large.
What’s the uptime?
Uptime is in the 99 percentile.
How secure will my Weebly site be?
Weebly has all the standard security functions, including strong encryption security (such as SSL) and DDoS mitigation service for advanced cyber attack protection. Unlike many other sites, it doesn’t have two factor authentication.
Does Weebly provide analytics?
Weebly provides different levels of analytics for different plans levels. Free users even get access to page views and unique visitors, while upgraded accounts can see search terms and referring sites.
How is Weebly for Customer Service?
My Sasquatch schooling didn’t include a lot of time in the computer lab, so I appreciate how Weebly incorporated education through small information buttons on the platform. It makes it easy to learn as you go. It has a great Support Centre site with answers to most questions, and if you can’t find what you’re looking for, Weebly support offers very responsive customer service. Five stars for service from this Sasquatch!
What type of support does it offer?
They offer email, chat and phone.
Does it come with a free domain?
No. Weebly charges $19.95 / year for a domain name, which is a bit more expensive than the other webbuilders and other domain providers out there. Privacy/anonymize is $10. Like most, you can transfer domains you’ve purchased elsewhere.
Is hosting included?
Can I move my site over to another web builder?
Some have blamed my ‘evasive Sasquatch nature’ on being scared of commitment. Perhaps they are right. Fearing commitment is one of the big reasons I’d pick Weebly – unlike most other webbuilders, Weebly lets you move your site if you want to. You simply download your site as a ZIP archive file with all of your HTML and send it via email. Blog content will have to be manually copied and/or migrated via RSS.
Is email included with the site?
Not unlike Wix, when you register your domain name with Weebly, you can pay to set-up a custom email addresses with Google's G Suite, essentially gmail.
Noteworthy: Not an international option
Weebly doesn’t have a great language functionality and sometimes block traffic from some countries. Best to avoid Weebly if you are creating an international site.
What makes Weebly the top pick for this Sasquatch? Simplicity, style and service. It is incredible intuitive, built for people with no knowledge of webbuilding or design. It also has stylish templates, one of the best ecommerce sites on the market and functionality galore. And, unlikely it’s closest competitors Wix, Weebly also has great customer service. Admittedly, Weebly isn’t perfect. There are far less template options than comparable webbuilders and there is less ability to customize. That being said, most people will find a perfectly wonderful, beautifully designed template that works for them and they won’t fall into any mistaken design faux-pas (which customization can sometimes create).
So, if you want to build a beautiful website that’s easy to create and has lots of functionality, my simple answer is, “Go with Weebly.”
